Flying the Tech One Neptune EDF 1230mm EPO ARF RC Wing with the Turnigy 9X: A Thrilling Experience

If you’re an RC enthusiast like me, you’re always on the hunt for the next exhilarating aircraft to add to your fleet. Recently, I got the chance to fly the Tech One Neptune EDF 1230mm EPO ARF RC Wing paired with my trusty Turnigy 9X RC transmitter, and let me tell you—it was an absolute blast!

First Impressions

The Tech One Neptune immediately catches your eye with its sleek, futuristic design. The 1230mm wingspan and lightweight EPO foam construction make it a perfect balance of size and durability. The vibrant blue, orange, and black accents on the wing give it a sporty look that turns heads at the flying field. Add to that its EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) propulsion system, and you’ve got a high-performance RC wing that’s built for speed and agility.

Assembly and Setup

The Neptune comes as an ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) model, which means there’s a bit of work involved before you can get it airborne. Assembling the wing was straightforward, thanks to the clear instructions provided. The foam components fit together seamlessly, and the pre-installed EDF motor and servos saved a lot of time. For the transmitter, I used my Turnigy 9X, which paired easily with the receiver I installed in the wing.

Flying Experience

Once everything was set up, it was time to take the Neptune for its maiden flight. From the moment it left the ground, I could feel the power of the EDF system. The wing slices through the air effortlessly, responding crisply to every input from the Turnigy 9X. Its aerobatic capabilities are phenomenal—loops, rolls, and high-speed passes are a breeze. Yet, it’s stable enough for slower, more controlled flying when needed.

One of the standout features of the Neptune is its agility. The delta-wing design allows for sharp turns and quick maneuvers, making it perfect for adrenaline-filled flights. At the same time, the EPO foam construction ensures it’s durable enough to handle the occasional hard landing (not that I’d recommend testing this intentionally!).

Flying Video

I accidentally misconfigured the ailerons, which made controlling the Neptune much harder than usual. To make things even more chaotic, a couple of eagles decided to chase the plane, likely mistaking it for an intruder in their airspace. Despite my best efforts to maneuver out of their way, the misconfiguration and the added distraction led to a crash. Luckily, the damage was minimal, and after some repairs, the Neptune was back in action and soaring through the skies again.

Why It’s a Must-Have

Flying the Tech One Neptune EDF RC Wing is pure joy. Whether you’re performing aerobatics or simply cruising through the sky, this model delivers on all fronts. Paired with the Turnigy 9X transmitter, the control and responsiveness are unparalleled.

If you’re looking for a high-performance RC wing that’s as fun to fly as it is to look at, the Neptune is a fantastic choice. It’s perfect for intermediate to advanced pilots who want to take their flying skills to the next level.

Final Thoughts

The Tech One Neptune EDF 1230mm EPO ARF RC Wing exceeded all my expectations. Its sleek design, high-speed performance, and agile handling make it an exceptional addition to any RC collection. Flying it with the Turnigy 9X transmitter was a seamless experience that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a thrill.

So, if you’re ready to take to the skies and experience the rush of flying a top-tier RC wing, the Neptune is waiting for you. Trust me—you won’t be disappointed!
